Personality:

On the surface, Lailah has a serene kind of aura to her. She appears calm and graceful, especially under pressure. She has an air of worldly experience and wisdom to her when she's being serious. Lailah does her best to give advice and guidance to those who ask, but she also encourages people to find their own answers.

This is the most whimsical Lady of the Lake anyone will ever meet. Lailah has an obsession with finding the perfect curl, dreaming of the day she'll meet Arma Dylan the armadillo seraph. She enjoys making puns, much to the horror of almost everyone in their party. However, much of her whimsy comes from the fact that it's how she cheers herself up or lessens the loneliness. It's her personal way of keeping herself free from malevolence.

She likes to listen to people's problems, even if they can't sense her presence. It helps to keep Lailah in touch with humanity as a whole. She might not be able to do anything, but the experience has made her a great listener. No problem is too small for her, as she knows that even small problems can turn into huge ones as far as malevolence is concerned.

Lailah will insist that she's a big sister figure to everyone, but she's really a mom, as Zaveid comments after the battle with Tiamet. Heck, after everyone passes out, she even says that she'll just tuck them in before resting herself. Lailah cares a lot about each and every one of them. She encourages them, gives them advice, gently chastises them that it's important to keep their purity or to put on a goddamn shirt, and even reminds them to take a break to recover their health after a particularly hard battle.

The terms of her oath prevent her from talking about previous Shepherds and anything concerning Maotelus. However, whenever she's asked questions about them, she does one of three things. 1) Pretend she didn't hear. 2) Try to abruptly change the subject to something ridiculous, like a bug crawling up a tree. 3) Make up a rhyme or a pun. Either way, it's clear that Lailah is a terrible liar and it's easy to tell when she can't talk about something. She's really bad at this.

She feels a lot of guilt and responsibility about Shepherd Michael. Lailah regrets that she didn't do more for him, and feels that some blame rests on her shoulders for the events of Camlann. It's why she tries her best to do more for Sorey as her current Shepherd. For example, she encourages him to travel the continent to find his personal answer to the Lord of Calamity. Lailah reminds him quite a few times to not lead a life of regrets.

Abilities: As a seraph, Lailah is an immortal being who has no need for eating, sleeping, or any biological function necessary for survival. She can manipulate fire, as well as other elements in conjunction with it (i.e. she can use a little water to create steam). Her main way of channeling her seraphic artes is through her paper cards. Lailah can also form a pact with a human/seraph, purify corruption, armatize with Sorey or Rose, and store her essence in Sorey's body.

She can also bake, fuse/synthesize weapons/armor, regenerate health for everyone with every step Sorey takes (as well as generally monitor the party members's health), and detect normin.
