[All things considered, she's fairly sure what Zaveid wants to talk about is one of the more serious topics, but she'll let him bring it up. However, she could also be wrong, so better to be patient with it.]

[ He makes a soft noise, crossing his arms and turning his head to look away from her for a moment. ]

I went and talked to Sorey. I asked him what his reasons were for being the Shepherd again.

[Lailah folds her hands in front of her at that.]

And what was his answer?

[ He shrugs, almost playing at being nonchalant. ]

A good one. Does it matter? I mean, you can always ask him yourself...

[She hums thoughtfully.]

In the end, it doesn't, and I'll let him decide whether he'll tell me or not. I suppose my real question is, then, did it help you to reach your answer?

[ He shakes his head, breathing out a huff of noise. ]

Perhaps because the timing hasn't been quite right to say 'yes.'

But we're avoiding the topic we should be discussing, aren't we? About taking the Sub Lord's pact again.

[ Wait, wait - he wants to ask more about that, but... There's important things that come first. ]

I've decided to be your Sub Lord again.

[This is a bit more important than whether he'll land a date with Lailah, yes. But only a little bit.

She gives Zaveid a kind, gentle smile.]
